Ik lig met mijn benen diagonaal gestrekt op de achterbank. Die vervloekte krampen ook in mijn benen. Hoe lang is het nog? Nog 7 uur. Zucht. Nòg 7 uur wachten voordat mijn Italiaanse roadtrip officieel van start gaat. Naast mij zoemt de frigobox op de achterbank, ach ja we zullen nog maar wat eten tegen de verveling. Dat haat ik altijd het meeste aan autoreizen, het lange wachten. Lasciatemi cantare… Uit de radio dreunt the best of Italian songs playlist. Smachtend naar de glooiende Toscaanse heuvels, overheerlijke pasta en goddelijke wijn, voel ik hoe ik wegzak naar dromenland.
